Bowlling with students

17.3. students in the area of Postojna and Pivka (that are in orginisation KŠOPP) organised bowlling competition in restaurant Erazmus in Postojna. You had to sign a couple of days earlyer, because there were only 10 lanes available and on each lane there could only be 5 players. Each player got a free drink for refreshment. It started with 20 minutes of warm-up and then the competition continued in frendship spirit. The first three groups got nice prices, such as 5 tickets for the performance of Slovenian group Siddharta in Ambasada Yu in Postojna.

SILA bazar

Saturday, 11.26.2011, from 10:00 to 16:00 at fair in Ljubljana happened the 18th SILA bazar.
SILA (Slovenian International Ladies Association) is non-profit, non-governmental and non-political
organisation that includes diplomatists and business men wives from foreign countries wives who live
in Slovenia and Slovenian women.
This year ist he 18th that thay organise SILA bazar; charitable fair, where every booth represents one
of the SILA. They sell different products from their countries. This year, the money is ment to help
the deaf people, disabled people, and children in acute crisis or with long-term deseases and for fight
against traffic with human beings.
Bazar was extremly successful. 33 countries and European Unio co-operated. There was also 4
boothes that were invintig cooking, art and book lovers and probably the most besieged booth –
lottery.
Number of the visitors was also surprising – the fair was visited by 6500 people, therefore SILA raised
almost 82.000€, that is 19.000€ more than last year.
As we can see, organisators did they work really well this year. Also all the women have to be praised.
That made such a bug effort and did that with love, happiness and voluntary.

This saturday, 12. november, a rugby match between Slovenia and Andorra hapened at Oval. Although Andorra was winnig 15:0 at the end of the first halftime, Slovenia reduced the difference in the second time. Match ended 15:6 for Andorra.

Simbioza e-pismena Slovenija

Year 2011 is a year of volunteering and because of that we decided to write about a project Simbioza e-pismena Slovenija. That was held in the hole Slovenia between  17. and 21. october. The project was ment to raise computer literacy among older people through intergenerational cooperation. Young volunteers splitted in groups, because the project was held a hole week in two periods (in the morning between 9.00 and 11.00 and in the afternoon between 16.00 and 18.00). Volunteers could sign up on the internet and choose which days, periods and contents are going to teach. Just like the volunteers the participants could sign up on the internet and in places where the project was held. For example, in Postojna the project was held in the premises of Šolski center Postojna, Ljudska univerza and knjižnica Bena Župančiča. The fact that participants could sign up on the internet i find totally unnecessary, because the first day of the project they were learning the parts of computer and on fourth day they learned about internet. The project was divided into several modules, which were getting harder every day and the particiants could sign up for the one that fitted their knowledge. Response of the participants was pozitive and their opinion is that we lack of projects like this.

Pop art exhibition

Sijajni POP is the name of pop art exhibition, which was presented in Piran between 11.6. and 9.10. Exhibition was placed in palace Trevisini, which is a rare temporary gallery that has a view of the sea and beach. Old murals in the palace are perfect for Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Tom Wesselman, James Rosenquist, Robert Rauschenberg and JohnChemberlain art. All the art work is owned by Živa Škodlar and Laza Vujića that have a galleries in Ljubljana, our capital city, and all around the world. Pop art started in United Kingdom and expanded in USA, especially in New York. That is the place that Andy Warhol establish The Factory  which under one roof contained all forms of art that developed during pop art period. Exhibition in Piran had the same spirit of The Factory, but it was done in a unique way and with a lot of effort. Organizers introduced unknown artist to slovene public and organized different workshops and for the end of exhibition 28. 9. played a film I shoot Andy Warhol.

High School concert in Ilirska Bistrica

8. 10. 2011 at 22.00 in Ilirska Bistrica, in front of high school a concert by the name Dijaški koncert was supposed to start, but as i was walking throug the tent, the concert was in, didn't have any problems with the croud, because there was no croud. There was only about 30 people in it, if you count in the performers, tone masters, organizers and  waitresses.

The first band to start was a young band named Rotacija, that is when the people started coming in the tent. At the entrance and all around the croud there were guards that were doing their job, but in my opinion they were a little bit too rough, impatient and impolite.

Soon after the first band finished and left stage the main band Zmelkoow started their show. That was when the tent started to get crouded and full. Everyone was enjoying the concert, especially people in the first row. After about an hour and a half of Zmelkoow  singing their new and old hits the audience started to get thirsty and they surrounded the bar.

 The third and the last band Pivo in Čevapi that performs  without guitars, without vocal, just with brass destroyed the last atom of energy that the people in the audience had.

In my opinion the organizers (Klub študentov Ilirska Bistrica) did well. Performers and tone masters did their work like it was expected. The location was good, but a little hard to find. I would like to rebuked the guards once more, because they were already deploying the people out of the tent when Pivo in čevapi were playing their last song. For the end i have an advise for organizers, don't copy Piva in čevapov: When audience wants more, give them more! ;)
